Prerequisite: None. This course is designed to explore how the concept of childhood in society and children's position has changed, to examine historical antecedents of change in relation to the new position of women in society and the marriages of today. It will also attempt to relate how changes in society and forces impacting on this change influence childrearing. Issues addressed will include divorce, the sexual acceleration of childhood, and television. 18 hours lecture.
