(Prerequisite: CIS 2556) Course covers Linux/Unix shell programming techniques necessary for Linux/Unix system administrators to understand and create shell script programs in a Linux/Unix environment. Topics include shell variables, running shell script program, conditional processing, looping structure, arithmetic operators, logical operators such as and, or, and not, positional parameters and process variables, redirection, piping and standard error, use of backslash, quotes and back quotes.
