This comprehensive overview of the professional world of music in education deals with the process of learning; goals and objectives; bases for selection of strategies, materials, and functional techniques; and evaluative considerations within a consistent philosophical rationale related to contemporary educational environ- ment. Selected teaching opportunities and observations in school music classrooms provide resources for developing teaching foundations. Emphasis is upon school grades K-6.
