The course examines the social organization, political economy, and power relations in colonial and post-colonial contexts, and particularly the impact of the colonial legacy on family, economic, political, and religious systems. Internal colonialism, neo-colonialism, dependence, and development are examined. Prerequisite: Junior/senior standing. 3 credits.
