Prerequisite: MED 245, BOT 111, 180 and 287 with a grade of C or better. Corequisites: ENG 101, PSY111, BOT 288, CPR Certification for health care providers. 5 credits This advanced clinical procedure course builds upon the knowledge from Clinical Procedures I and will provide the student with phlebotomy skills, EKG skills, and basic principles of radiology safety. The course presents concepts related to nutrition, surgical asepsis and autoclaving, simple dressing changes and response to medical emergencies. Medication administration, pharmacology and principles of anatomy and physiology are integrated throughout this course. Three hours of class and three hours of clinical laboratory experience per week and 45 hours of clinical over the semester.
