Advanced medical-surgical nursing course focuses on client adaptation to stress that results from selected traumatic, inflammatory, and neoplastic disease processes of various body systems. Special adaptation problems of the aged and the chronically ill are also included. Medical therapies and surgical interventions are discussed. Provides planned program of supervised experience on medical and surgical units in selected health care agencies. Prerequisites: NUR 43, NUR 44, BIO 24, BIO 28. Corequisite: NUR 45.
