An introduction to basic managerial concepts and practices. The nature of organizations and their relationships with external forces (social, economic, legal/political, competitive, technological and global) are explored. Key management functions, including decision-making, planning, organizing, directing and controlling are examined. Analytical and hands-on skills are further developed by introducing students to the application of mathematical models in the solution of managerial problems. Corequisite: ENG 02 or RDL 02 if required and MTH 05 if required.
