Fall Lab fee will be required. This course is designed to provide the student with hands-on experience caring for critically ill patients in the intensive care setting. The student will be responsible for all aspects of respiratory care for assigned patients. Special emphasis will be placed on mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, ABG applications, and routine care of the critically ill patient. Open only to matriculated Respiratory Care students or those with permission of the department chairperson. A letter grade of "C"or better is required for graduation. Prerequisites; RESP 110, Human Anatomy and Physiology; RESP 125, Fundamentals of Respiratory Care II; RESP 200, Advanced Respiratory Life Support.
