Fall Lab fee will be required. Exploration of the basic visual and technical tools used in studio photography. Students will become proficient in areas such as set design, controlling artificial light, using the view camera, and photographic tone control. Emphasis on creativity and communication, and the expressive use of black and white materials in small, medium, and large format. A 35mm SLR camera is required. Prerequisite: ARTS 130, Photography I or permission of department chairperson.
