Fall This course is a continuation of the study of the theoretical foundation for the management of patients with more advanced preventive and therapeutic oral health care needs. Emphasis is on the assessment of periodontal conditions, care planning, implementation of preventive and treatment modalities and evaluation of treatment outcomes. Legal and ethical considerations are discussed and applied to patient care. Open only to matriculated Dental Hygiene students. Prerequisites: DHYG 120, Preventive Dentistry II; DHYG 121, Clinical Dental Hygiene I. Corequisites: DHYG 207, Periodontology; DHYG 231, Clinical Dental Hygiene II.
