Spring This is an advanced course intended for students who have completed three terms of preventive dentistry courses. Students are exposed to a wide variety of learning experiences, including lecture, case presentations, and research. Topics include the recognition and reporting of child abuse, the care of patients with special needs, and practice management issues. The goal of this course is to transition students, after graduation, into the workplace as oral health professionals. Open only to matriculated Dental Hygiene students. Prerequisites: DHYG 207, Periodontology; DHYG 230, Preventive Dentistry III; DHYG 231, Clinical Dental Hygiene II. Corequisites: DHYG 241, Clinical Dental Hygiene III.
