Prerequisite: NURS 1020 and NURS 1025; taken concurrently with NURS 2030 This course is an introduction to parent-child nursing. The focus is provision and management of family centered nursing care with emphasis on respect and support. Students gain increased experience in client advocacy for a diverse population, health promotion/prevention, developing therapeutic relationships, and communication/ collaboration. Principles of evidence based practice, pharmacology, and nutrition are integrated throughout the course.
