Prerequisite: Acceptance to ADN Program; admission is competitive. This course is an introduction to professional nursing practice that encompasses core components of Bainbridge College's ADN program: caring, critical thinking, communication, conscience, competence, commitment, confidence, cultural efficacy and holistic beliefs. Foundational concepts including the nursing process, legal and ethical issues, medical terminology, documentation, and competency in clinical techniques will be developed. Drug calculation, administration, and drug categories will be introduced. Laboratory and clinical learning will focus on gaining actual experience in the provision of client care.
