Prerequisite: AHEA 1130; AHEA 1140 This course introduces to students the skills necessary for assisting the physician with a complete history and physical exam in all types of practices. The course includes skills necessary for sterilizing instruments and equipment and setting up sterile trays. The student also explores the theory and practice of electrocardiography. Topics include blood/air-borne pathogens, infection control and related OSHA guidelines, preparing patients and assisting physician with examinations and diagnostic procedures, vital signs, minor office surgical procedures, and electrocardiograms.
