Prerequisite: AHEA 1130; AHEA 1140; TECH 1110 or TECH 1120 or MATH 1111 This course introduces drug therapy with emphasis on safety, classification of drugs, their action, side effects, and/or adverse reactions. Also introduces the basic concept of mathematics used in the administration of drugs. Topics include introduction to pharmacology, calculation of dosages, sources and forms of drugs, drug classification, and drug effects on the body systems. This class can NOT be used for credit toward the LPN program of study (LPNU 1120).
