Prerequisites: SOCI 1101, READ 0099 Study of social welfare as an institution and social work as a profession, the course will include a study of various settings which offer welfare services, the development of knowledge, values, and skills relevant to social work and other human services, and an examination of the problems and gaps encountered in service delivery systems. The course is designed to contribute to the enrichment of general education for all students as well as those interested in a career in social work.
