Pre-req.: ENG 041, ENG 042 or appropriate placement test score This course introduces the logic of persuasion and proof through the examination of the principles of rational argument. The course covers the nature of inference, validity and soundness; types of formal and informal reasoning; truth, meaning, and definition; and fallacies. An emphasis is placed on critical thinking in a college environment.
