3 cr. LEC 3 hrs. Credit will be given for either LST 110 or POL 110. This course provides an examination of the historical basis and the current structure of the American legal system, including the legislative, judicial, and executive functions. The course provides an introduction to the substantive and procedural aspects of law, including contracts and business, real and personal property, torts and negligence, criminal law, family law and wills and estates. Ethical responsibilities are stressed throughout.
