3 cr., LEC 3 hrs. Prereq.: EMS 101 EMS responders are often called upon to respond to emergencies involving pediatric and geriatric patients. Care of these age groups is very different from others. This program will combine lecture, case studies, and scenarios, designed to improve the student's assessment and management skills of these special populations. Topics include care of medical and trauma emergencies in both the geriatric and pediatric population, and care of patients with special healthcare needs. This class is designed to improve the student's comfort-level while providing care to these special populations.
