3 cr. Pre-req.: ENG 041, ENG 042 or appropriate placement test score and BIO 262, BIO 263 This course reviews the structure and use of medical words. Students are able to build a professional vocabulary based on an understanding of prefixes, suffixes, word roots and combining forms. Additionally, they learn how to spell, define, and pronounce medical terms and how to use a medical dictionary.
