3 cr. LEC 3 hrs. This course provides an examination of the major ethical issues confronting the medical and legal professions, as well as the issues common to both. Such issues include informed consent, standards of care, treatment options, competencies, end-of-life treatment decisions, euthanasia, assisted suicide and other current topics. The unique role of the nurse paralegal is emphasized.
