This is an elective course designed to introduce students to applied clinical nutrition. The course covers basic nutrition for both ruminant and simple-stomach animals. Students learn how nutrition affects the animal patient and causes or impacts animal conditions. The laboratories and recitation periods are used to instruct students how to calculate animal nutrition requirements and feeding programs. Guest speakers from pet-food companies and other nutritional professionals will be invited to address students.
