Breeding Colony Management Laboratory The Breeding Colony Management Laboratory course provides hands on training in the special husbandry and hygiene techniques used in laboratory animal science to maintain and breed animals in the Specific Pathogen Free hygienic state. Students write protocol and Standard Operating Procedures. Helpling in colony management decisions one day and working in the cage wash room the next, (including weekends) developing the pedagogical objectives of problem solving, mechanical operations, material processing, budget constraints, adapting to change and work ethics along with the down to earth techniques of husbandry, feeding, breeding and nutrition applications. The animals bred are used in other Veterinary Science courses.
