This course examines the responsibilities of personnel managers and managers who perform the human-resource management functions in golf courses, recreational/sports, or veterinary/lab-animal facilities. Course content includes: work analysis, staffing, training and development, appraisal, compensation, maintenance, union relations, communication, motivation, and legislation. Contemporary topics are employee recognition, employee assistance programs, professional burnout, and sexual harassment as they relate to these unique areas. Prerequisites: 1. COMM 100 and ENGL 100 2.
