This course will review New York State's immense and diverse tourism industry. Course content introduces students to the vital role of tourism as New York State's second-largest economic generator. The content will review the many elements of the travel industry that contribute to the success of tourism in New York State. Topics include New York's natural resources, the role of transportation (air, surface, maritime), the accommodations and lodging industry, and the State's wealth of both natural and man-made attractions and activities. Special consideration will be given to the promotions and continued development of tourism in New York State through state, regional and independent organizations, networks, associations, and agencies.
