This course introduces students to the salient aspects of adolescent psychology. The biological, cognitive, and socioemotional changes that occur during adolescence will be explored. Topics for the course emphasize adolescents' identity development within the "American" community, treating family, peer, moral, sexual, and biological issues. The course is designed to help students better understand the American adolescent experience in relation to adolescence in other cultures.
