This course provides an introduction to the critical thought processes and methods used in nursing research, emphasizing nursing theroy as a basis for research, and improved under- standing and application of nursing practice as the goal for the utilization of research. Basic concepts and terminology of research methodology and analysis are presented. Students are given the opportunity to interpret and evaluate nursing research. Strategies for research utilization/evidence based practice and dissemination are explored. Prerequisites: must be accepted into the 8BS program.
