This course is an introduction to basic ski touring and snowshoeing. Techniques for minimizing impact on the environment are emphasized. The course includes discussions on equipment, techniques, dressing for winter conditions, trail selection, health and safety considerations, conditioning, trip planning, and leadership skills. Skiing and snowshoe experience is required. A fee is charged to cover expenses.
