This course introduces students to peer education through classroom presentations, experiential exercises, and facilitation of presentations to peers in classroom settings and residence halls. The classroom portion of the course consists of lectures on basic listening and communication skills as well as an introduction to peer education. There will also be classroom sessions on specific topics related to campus issues, such as alcohol and substance abuse, sexual assault, dating violence, and other topics addressed by peer educators. Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor; sponsorship by a faculty member; completion of 12 hours of college-level work; minimum 2.0 cumulat GPA. Same as ALHT 205.
