Introduction to the principles of weather observation, analysis and forecasting using the latest computer and Internet technology. The students learn to interpret satellite imagery; study weather systems as they develop. A comprehensive analysis of severe atmospheric events such as snowstorms, hurricanes, thunderstorms and tornadoes is used to give students a basic understanding of weather that they can apply to real situations. 3 hours lecture; 3 hours laboratory
