This course requires students to start and manage a small business. Topics will include: why people start small businesses, rewards it brings, structure and necessity of a business plan including financing a small business venture. Also covered are development of an organization chart and ways of effectively hiring and managing employees in a small business context. Lecture, independent research, e-mail, online discussion and conference room meetings will be used to provide the student with a well-rounded vision of the small business environment. Prerequisites: BUS203, BUS112, BUS230, and BUS214
