First course of a two course sequence designed to introduce doctoral students to psychological assessment. Course covers topics such as principles of psychological measurement, assessment issues with multi-cultural populations and the ethics of assessment. Contemporary theories of intelligence and use of the Wechsler Scales are also taught. Prerequisite: admission to Ph.D. program in clinical psychology.
