This course introduces the new PTA student to the Physical Therapy profession and the ever-changing healthcare field. The emphasis is upon 1) becoming a health professional and 2) understanding the role of the PTA in the healthcare system with regard to the role of team members, legal/ethical issues, medical terminology/documentation, infection control, stress/wellness management, client safety and security issues, self evaluation and communication skills. Lab fee required. Corequisites: PHT 1120 and PHT 1120L and PHT 1200 and PHT 1200L.
