This course develops an understanding of the quality management initiatives in health care including utilization review, case management, risk management, medical staff credentialing and peer review. The study of quality management in health care will be based upon the roles and influences of accrediting bodies, regulatory agencies, legislation, society and payers. Prerequisites: CGS 2100C and HIM 1000 and HIM 1222C and INP 2002 and STA 2023. Corequisites: HIM 2253C and HIM 2261.
