6 hours, 6 credits. Prerequisite: AUT 111. Pre- or corequisite: AUT 203. This course presents the theory and operation of manual transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, automatic transmissions, and rear ends. Students remove, inspect, diagnose and rebuild manual and automatic transmissions. Upon successful completion of this course, students are prepared to take the ASE certification examination in automatic and manual transmissions. Offered fall semester.
