AUT 211 - Emissions and Electronic Diagnosis and Testing

4 hours, 4 credits. Prerequisite: AUT 203 or 205. Students learn to assess, diagnose, repair and replace automotive computer systems and their components. They learn current automotive emissions regulations and testing procedures. The use of engine and gas analyzers and other electronic test equipment are studied. Using different reference sources, students work on computerized emissions control systems, the ABS brake controller systems, the body controller and the suspension system. Upon successful completion of this class, students are prepared for the ASE certification examination in advanced engine performance. Offered Spring Semester.
