4 credits, 3 lecture hours, 3 lab hours The basic medical laboratory techniques are covered in this course. The student will be introduced to concepts of hematology, immunology, serology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and parasitology. To successfully conduct waivered test analyses of body specimens, the student will learn the use of standard laboratory equipment and processing methods. Additionally, the student will learn how to perform safely and effectively in a medical laboratory environment. PREREQUISITE: HC-105 and HC-108.
