NUR 204 - Clinical Health Deviations II

Focuses on the integration of theoretical nursing concepts, theories and principles to provide care to acutely ill clients with complex health deviations. An emphasis is placed on nursing process, legal/ethical issues, teaching/learning and communication in the management of complex care throughout the course. Students have the opportunity to hone clinical skills, facilitate communication with clients and families dealing with acute illness and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team. Nursing care of clients with selected physiologic health deviations in traumatic injury and critical care is addressed. The roles and responsibilities of the registered professional nurse are incorporated in the delivery of care. Prerequisites: NUR 201 and NUR 202 Corequisites: NUR 203 and NUR 206 Offered: Spring
