Prepares licensed and registered nurses to work in an operating room. The didactic content is centered around 26 modules including topics in anesthesia, asepsis, assessment, medications, surgical procedures and innovations, wound healing, instrumentation, scrubbing, gowning and gloving. For the registered nurse, this course also includes circulation. Students receive handouts, reading assignments, videos to view, guidelines for preceptors, posttests, a bibliography and a final examination. The lab content simulates procedures performed in an operating room. Students must have hospital sponsors to participate. Offered: Varies
