Provides the basic algebraic concepts and skills necessary to meet the prerequisites for college-level mathematics courses. Major topics include functions, linear equations and properties of lines, systems of equations, exponents, polynomials, factoring, rational expressions and quadratic equations. Concepts and skills are introduced by lecture and individualized instruction. Students use a graphing calculator. (Credits do not apply toward graduation.)
