Instructs students how to recognize life-threatening situations, give proper care during an emergency and prevent situations that lead to an emergency. The course involves learning both cognitive and motor skills. Students must score a minimum of 80 percent for certification by the American Red Cross in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and standard first aid.
