Offers structured clinical experiences in a nursing home designed to enable students to develop proficiency in basic nursing skills learned in HLH 178. Development of interpersonal communication skills with the patient, peers and staff is emphasized. The implementation of nursing care is based on Dorothea Orem's theory of self-care requisites. This is a prerequisite for all future nursing theory and clinical experience, and must be completed with a grade of "Pass." Prerequisites: BIO 220, BIO 221, ENG 101, HLH 130, HLH 134 and PSY 111 Offered: Fall
