u (3 Credits--3 Hours) Corequisite: BSC 2010L. Primarily for science majors, this course emphasizes biology at the cellular level. Topics will include chemistry and biochemistry; cell structure and function; cell division, including mitosis and meiosis; metabolism, including cellular respiration and photosynthesis; and genetics, including Mendelian and molecular genetics and biotechnology. Students may use either BSC 1005 or BSC 2010 to fulfill general education science requirements.
