u (3 Credits--3 Hours) A chronological look at architecture as a reflection of major cultural concerns in the western world from prehistoric times to the twentieth century. Each major period in history will be thematically approached and studied with visual aids and discussions. The course focuses on the psychological and sociological impact of the ethos upon man's architectural monuments as an extension of his personal needs and basic instinct for physical survival and mental well-being.
