[4 Credits - 105 Contact Hours - Didactic 45 hours (Blended online/classroom) Lab 20 hours and 40 clinical. ] Prerequisite: NUR 1004 - Bridge I: LPN Transition. This course is the second of two bridge courses that builds upon the Licensed Practical Nurse's education and readiness to advance into the Associate Degree program. Didactic content and lab activities explore the nursing process, critical thinking skills, and care of clients throughout the lifespan. Nursing assessments are performed to identify health risks and care issues. Students examine the nursing roles of caregiver, educator, and manager. Course content and lab activities practice critical thinking and evidence based nursing. Students address the responsibilities of nurses in culturally diverse health care environments.
