u 9 (3 Credits--3 Hours) Prerequisite: COP 1000 with a grade of "C" or higher. A hands-on course in programming with the Java language. Students will create Java applications with emphasis on object-oriented programming techniques. Topics include classes, class versus instance properties and methods, expressions, abstraction, encapsulation, arrays, the use of existing classes as provided in the current version of the Java API and the Unified Modeling Language class diagram notation.
