(3 Credits - 3 Hours) Prerequisites: OST 2611 with a grade of "C" or higher. This is anadvanced study of the medical transcription processes of hospitals and ambulatory health care settings through a hands on approach. Emphasis is placed on developing the transcriptionist's "ear" with a resultant increase in speed and accuracy. Style guidelines of the AAMT are emphasized. Medical vocabulary is expanded with a special emphasis on disease processes, surgical procedures, and diagnostic and pharmacological treatments.
