u (3 Credits-6 Hours) Prerequisite: GRA 1190C. Investigation of the art of creating and using letter forms as a design tool. In addition to integrating graphic models with type, specific emphasis will be placed on the treatment of type as image itself. Subjects to be covered include the history of typographic technology, advanced vector imaging and type construction for web publication. An exit grade of "C" or higher is required.
