CSU Prerequisite: Completion of all first semester courses. Corequisite: Concurrent enrollment in PHT-4, 5, and 6. Limitation on enrollment: Acceptance into the Physician Assistant Program. This course is designed to meet the state and national accreditation requirements for an approved Physician Assistant program. The student is introduced to the basic principles of pharmacology including pharmacokinetics, drug actions, drug interaction and drug toxicities involved in the clinical use of drugs. Emphasis will be placed on the physiological and biochemical actions, absorptions, distribution, metabolism, excretions and therapeutic use of drugs. 72 hours lecture.
