CSU Prerequisite: None. Limitation on enrollment: Advanced standing in the Physician Assistant Program including completion of all first-year courses. Designed to meet the state and national accreditation requirements for an approved Physician Assistant program. Students are assigned to the Department of Surgery where, under supervision, they participate in a wide variety of patient care activities including surgical history review, physical examination, diagnostic testing, technical and surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient. Students attend daily ward rounds, special conferences with participation in preoperative and post-operative care of patients. Includes rotations through the Trauma Unit and Emergency Room. 224 hours laboratory
